The Exide Select Orbital offers another approach to energy storage that is finding many uses in specialised applications. The proven spiral wound cell provides maximum power at a lower resistance, allowing for faster discharging/charging. The separator material is an Absorbed Glass Matt that means there is no free electrolyte that can spill or even needs topping up. Each cell has its own valve, which is regulated to only open under extreme conditions, thus allowing the battery to operate as a totally sealed unit and be fitted into spaces not previously possible. It can even be mounted on its side or on an angle. The VRLA (Valve Regulated lead acid technology) is used extensively in power back up applications and assumes the electrical environment is working to specifications.
