Inverters
A Power Inverter is a device that takes in 12 or 24 Volt DC power and inverts it up to 240 Volt 50hz AC power. This power can be used for a variety of applications, from charging computer batteries, to power tools such as a drill or grinder.Inverters have two ratings:
Peak, the absolute maximum output usually for a very short period of time.Continuous, their continuous output.
These ratings are in watts. To determine the most suitable inverter you must know the power requirement of what you wish to run. If unsure, contact us.
The AC output of inverters is divided into two basic styles, pure sine wave and modified square wave. Both will run most appliances, however some scientific or medical equipment will only operate correctly on pure sine wave. It is critical to ensure the correct style of inverter is obtained.
Output, Inverters are available in a wide range of outputs from 140 watt to 5000 watt; Too small and an inverter will not do what you intended. Too powerful and it will only consume the power it needs, but will cost you a little extra. Our advice is don't undersize!
